December 2013

Christmas Cookies!

One of my last vivid memories of Scot was the making of Christmas cookies at Grandma and Grandpa Hamlin's house.

I have a picture very similar to the above from that year, four years ago.

[Okay, after I had already planned this post, I decided to go back and look at those pictures from four years ago. And couldn't pass up posting these next four as a tribute to old friends and young kids. Hope you enjoy this blast from the past as much as I did.

Which led to this one...

So little, so dainty...

Time tunnel back to 2013]

Lots

and

lots

of cookies!

For the kids' birthdays this year, we took them to the Cosmosphere.

They got to try out the hurricane simulator. It was super windy!

Orion got a little bored at the museum.

I believe Maebelle took this one of me.

And Maebelle also took the next two.

I love how you can see her in the monitor with the camera. Great shot, Maebelle!

Moments before the longest drive from Hutchinson to Lawrence in the history of drives from Hutchinson to Lawrence.

But the snow was beautiful for about 5 minutes and we made it home safely. :) And it was a wonderful trip!

Mother Earth News Fair and Fun Projects

Mother Earth News Fair came to Lawrence back in October. The kids got to make beads from rock.

It was really cool!

Maebelle had her face painted within 5 minutes of arrival.

She is so beautiful! And the kids learned how to build with cob. I think we should put them to work building us a cool natural home with a wood stove and round doorways. ;)

Snuggle time!

Being sweet on the couch together:

In early October, we painted pumpkins instead of carving them so they'd last longer.

Maebelle did some really cool lines.

Orion chose to paint a face. :)

Maebelle did a face in her lines as well.

Ooobleck!!!

One evening when Heidi and her family joined us for Zac's amazing vegetable Korma, Nana came too!

And brought play dough for the kids to sculpt.

Snakes (that turned into beads) and birds.

Thanks for looking!

have a beautiful weekend

Wedding Reception, Halloween 2013

Orion lost his tooth on this evening (back in September)...

And while I went to check on Maebelle...

Orion had already started writing his note to the tooth fairy.

Can you tell we missed one? ;)

In 2013, we had the pleasure of welcoming the amazingly beautiful Lindsey into our family.  Isn't she lovely? And aren't they an amazing looking couple?

They had these fun little props set out.

The girls LOVED them!

Oh Jordie, you are the best!

Isn't Cade adorable? I love his big blue eyes!

Ooo-la-la!

:: i LOVE him ::

And Cora's big blue eyes are gorgeous as well.

Aaahhh, green, I can't wait to see you again...

Check out this tower Maebelle, Orion and Heidi built.

And this was Halloween with the best pumpkin ever!

Maebelle HAD to be Rocky or CeCe.  Don't know what distinguishes her as Rocky or CeCe besides that she's stylin' by today's standards, but she really enjoyed it. And that's what mattered.

Orion was a ninja turtle who got sick of his mask. :)

And the darling, smiley Heidi-witch.

She had these amazing orange tights covered by spider web tights. And they were so cool together! I wish you could have captured them. Too dark though.

Anyway, hope you have a beautiful day!
