Back to Fall

I found some pumpkin pictures I never posted. So here they are!

The above and below pumpkins were so interesting. The lines looked so spider web-y.

Orion didn't quite cut all the way through his pumpkin the first time.

Kinda gooey.

Ewwww...

Maebelle drew on the face, then cut out the drawing. All precise and well planned.

Orion, on the other hand, just went to work. Carving wherever he pleased.

They both turned out really cool. And they had lots of fun for the evening.

Then also back in October, we went to Mary's Lake out at Clinton.

Sunset is such a beautiful time of day!

Maebelle looks like she's throwing the fishing rod into the pond. She kept casting like that. i was afraid it was actually going in a couple of times. : )

My two favorite men.

Still a few green blades as the grass is beginning to turn to brown. And it's likely all brown now, and frozen. Seems like winter hit hard and fast this year. I don't mind it...for now.

Birthdays to come very soon. : )

Gingerbread Barn

For several years now, my mom has organized the making of gingerbread things for the Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays in Topeka. I don't have pictures of all of them, but here's our cabin from 2012.

There has also been a train and a snow globe in past years. This year, it was a ginger-barn.

Grandpa Tim's Tractor Ride.

Maebelle's pig 'rolled' in the mud.  ; )

I love the way the fence turned out. Nuts as stones and pretzels as the cross pieces.

Mom found a new way to make trees. It's lovely!

All the grandkids are in the wagon.

Grandma's puppy dog is at play. (Since we all know it wouldn't be Grandpa's dog!)

We went on Friday evening, before they had announced the winners. But my mom's friend took a picture of it when he was there later in the weekend with a blue ribbon on it! First place!

It was a lot of work, as always. But it was also a lot of fun! And it turned out so cute!

Then on to kids gingerbread houses.

Aaaaannd...frosting eating.

Aaaaannd more frosting eating. His mom wasn't thrilled at the amount of sugar eating that was happening, but that seems to be what the kids do...

...here's Orion in 2010...

...and again in 2012...

I always remember Maebelle being the one who ate the frosting, but I obviously didn't capture it as consistently.

Then after the gingerbread house event, we went to the Merc Co+op's Annual Owner Meeting.

It was a HUGE event this year. More owners than ever before I think. It was fun that it was so busy. The food was beautiful as well!

Good work Martin and crew!

More to come. And as always,

Peace.
