M & O - Children's Photography

Maebelle is getting to be such a kid. Lately, she has these looks that she gives that just make me think, she's not a baby anymore.

She also has been sitting in ways that kids sit, not babies. I don't know if that make any sense, but when she is playing or watching a movie, or whatever, she just has the body of a kid now.

When she was about 4 months old, I took some photos of her on film (remember that?) for my mom for her birthday. In fact, it was about 3 years ago this week. Well, in one of the photos I took of her that day, she had the exact same look on her face as she does in this next photo. Her eyes were bright and her mouth slightly open. She was lying on the floor looking directly into the camera, except in the 4 month photo, she didn't have any clothes on. And her eyes have changed color since then. They are now much more colorful.

Orion. Sweet, Orion.

This little man. I know Zac doesn't care for me to baby him, but he will always be my little baby. And I don't think I overdo it. (Hopefully I don't.)

I cut his hair, well, Maebelle's too. But I trimmed the bottom off so he doesn't look like he has a mullet anymore. And it completely changed his profile. I don't have a photo of it up here, but he has a neck now. And it makes him look so much older. There's not nearly as much fuzz around his ears, like in the next one.

If you know someone who would like to have their children's photos taken (or senior photos, yes there's still time for those, too) have them email me at

sarahhamlinphotography@gmail.com.

This is the prefect time of year, with the grass greening and the trees and flowers starting to bloom. We could get some great outside shots.

Green and Curly

You might think, with all of the guitars I have taken photos of, I might be sick of them. But I'm not. I love the way the lines of the guitars look.

How the contrast and color vary with different kinds of wood.

I know that I always seem to say the same things about the guitars and well, pretty much everything I shoot, but that's what pleases my eyes. Hopefully it pleases yours, as well.

There are always cool lines and interesting aspects to anything you might own. If you have something that means a lot to you that you would like artistic photographs of, let me know. Email me at sarahhamlinphotography@gmail.com

Also, if you are looking to purchase an instrument or know someone else who is looking, be sure to check out Hamlin Guitars here. Or email them at info@hamlinguitars.com.

Have a beautiful day, even though (or maybe especially because) of the horrible weather!

Right in Your Own Backyard

It always amazes me what you can find if you're willing to really look.

It's fascinating to find something so inspiring -

lines slanted with age,

colors worn with time,

and the magnificent textures of the past.

Time has a way of changing us all. There is still beauty, even in the old and dilapidated. You just have to look for it.

And now I need your help. I have been thinking of framing several of these to make a series. What do you think? If you have 2 or 3 that you like better than the others, could you please either leave a comment or email me (sarahhamlinphotography@gmail.com) to let me know which ones you prefer. Thanks for your help, Sarah

Two More Guitars

I recently had the chance to take photos of a couple different guitars. They were a lot of fun to shoot because they have a lot of interesting details. And the colors on the first one are phenomenal. Those colors are so peaceful.

Keep watching for more blogs. I have lots of photos to go through, then I should have some more posts. I hope you have a beautiful day!
