Dip Dye and Cedar

Hello.

During the last week of school, the kids dip dyed their hair. Heidi did hers first, but I didn't get a picture of it. Actually it faded before I even got to see it.

Orion chose orange and purple.

Patiently waiting for it to work.

Maebelle didn't have to lean as far. : )

Maebelle used blue and red.

It was late on a school night when they finished, so I didn't get a picture of the finished product. And the last week of school was so busy that I didn't get back to it. : ( But they loved the process. Orion's orange has faded completely and Maebelle's blue is gone too. The purple and red are still there, though.

Back to Cedar...

These were taken early in the morning, so he had dew all over his face and paws and ears and head. : )

He is still super cute and super soft and fluffy! He has more energy every day, which is fun, but can also be tiring!

Awwwww, LOVE him!

Our Sweet Little Cedar Baby

I mean puppy. But you couldn't tell by the way we treat him. : )

Anyway, from the beginning: On our way to pick up the sweetest little puppy there ever was, Maebelle and I traded taking pictures of each other.

I have been really impressed with how much she seems to enjoy taking pictures. I am glad to be able to share this with her.

We went to a farm outside of Baldwin City to pick up our bundle of soft, cuddly, roly-poly cuteness.

I thought I was going to let him sit with the kids on the way home, but I ended up hogging him the whole way. He was so warm and sweet, I just couldn't give him up. : )

Here he is, Cedar.

All the family:

He loves cave-like spaces. Anything small and dark. Here he is cuddling with the ducky bunny we (Orion) shared with him.

So precious!

The kiddo loves dead leaves. The crunchy ones.

And Maebelle loves him. She takes such great care of him. She is learning lots of necessary skills from having a puppy. They both are, really. I knew it would be good for the kids to have some responsibility, but I have been very impressed with the way they have handled it so far.

I love how regal he is. He has such poise. Such majesty.

In his shoulders anyway. In the above picture, his back side is kind of roundish.

Without needing to be the center of attention all the time, he does enjoy hanging with the kids. Cedar just watches over them. Makes sure all is good, maybe with the exceptional interruption in their game.

Laying at the back door. I love this one. I hope he keeps this place as time goes on.

There are certainly more to come. In fact I believe I have another two blogs just about ready to go, but this is all for tonight. Thanks for enjoying him with us!

Springtime Fishing

Orion loves fishing!

Lake Henry is a wonderful place to take the kids to fish (they pretty much do it all themselves) and get some fresh air.

A few weeks ago (actually probably more like the beginning of April, but it feels like only a few weeks ago) Orion wanted to make Ooblek. So the kids did it themselves. I love that they are old enough to be able to do some of these fun projects start to finish by themselves. And I am thankful they enjoy them still. I spent a lot of time creating with them when they were little. I am glad they still find creating and experimenting fun and exciting. Speaking of exciting - I love this next one of Maebelle. The excitement on her face is marvelous!

For some reason I was not able to get a shot of Orion with his orange goo.

We recently got a puppy so look for lots of cute, cuddly, puppy blogs coming soon!
