Cookies, Crochet and Spirograph

I love decorating cookies. Maebelle does too.

So when she had a sleepover a couple of months ago, that's what we planned to do.

They turned out so cute!

This year (and always, really) Maebelle achieved some really great stuff in school.

So much so that she deserved a bit of a gift. Zac bought her a beautiful amber necklace.

And I didn't get a picture of it up close, so I'll show you flowers instead!

I love coffee and books on Saturday mornings.
Preferably while the kids play fun games with crazy hair. :)

Hannah, hopefully these next two turned out as awesome as they seemed that evening in the Jeep. ;)

Crochet African Flower coasters for Mama.

I love this shape and these colors. They make my heart happy.

Who doesn't love spirographs?

They made birds, mandalas, slinkies, raptors (the dinosaur kind), wormholes to take us to other dimensions...

...Orion even made a whole page of soldiers today. The spirographs were the shields.

I love these kids!

Sweet Little Jonah

On April 25, 2013, my wonderful brother and his beautiful wife had their first baby. His name is Jonah Lawrence and he is super sweet.

I absolutely love the picture above with Josh holding Jonah in their home and Brandy in the background by the dining table.

Maebelle loves babies. She was soooooo excited to get to hold little Jonah. This was when he was about 3 or 4 days old. So tiny.

Orion loved holding him as well. However he was a little more cautious and timid.

For the birth of Jonah, I made them a blanket. This was my first large crochet project and I love the way it turned out. I based it off of a blanket that we received from Zac's grandma Trefz when Maebelle was only a month old.

The blanket we received has been used and used and used. It is good for summer, winter, playing, cuddling or sleeping.

Maebelle took the next two of me. We don't have many pictures of me, so it was fun to see these. :)

The nursery for Jonah is gray with a green chair. And when shopping for yarn, these colors just seemed to work together. Josh and Brandy are also huge KU Basketball fans, so the red and blue fit as well. :)

I hope Jonah and his family get as much use out of this colorful, bold blanket as we have gotten out of ours.

Here is Jonah at Josh's birthday party, I believe, where he would have been about a month old.

I love how they are gazing into each other's eyes.

::smile::   ::sigh::

Still more to come...
