Fresh Air Life Returns

Just Maebelle. Being silly with her 20th pancake of the day. 

I sure do love washers with the family.

Ooohhh, Cedar wanted them so badly!

One of the best things about summer winding down is we get to breathe in fresh air again. The windows and doors are opened, games and outside adventures in the evenings are refreshing.

And we get to enjoy the beautiful evening light that filters through the trees of our back yard. It makes my heart happy.

I love this man.

And I love that he loves her. So thankful I caught this one. They parted ways right after this kiss, so I was very thankful I reached for my camera when I first spotted them together out back as I was doing dishes.

There's just something about the one of Maebelle above. It may be the coolness of the light. The light reflecting off the water. Her funky outfit with her red hair. The fact that her glasses, shirt and water all kind of have the same tint to them. May just be that it's Maebelle and I think she's beautiful!

He waited so patiently this evening. There weren't many fish to be caught at Lake Henry that night. But he kept at it. 

And he did it with a smile on his face. : )

And Maebelle tried a few casts before we left. I don't think she caught anything either.

Trooper Cake

The older Maebelle gets, the more pictures there are of me. : )

We were gifted some cake mix by Zac's grandma Trefz.

The kids wanted to make the cake fun. So we decided to do half chocolate frosting and half funfetti frosting! Chocolate for dirt (or maybe mud, I can't remember) and the orangish color for sand.

Then Orion wanted to add Legos.

So he made a kammatrooper scene for us to enjoy before we enjoyed the cake and they took pictures. They had so much fun with it! So thankful for the easy things that please them!

I don't seem to get my camera out enough these days. So dinner on a random evening sounds like a good time. We changed the lights in our dining room and they have almost a spotlight feel to them. 

Then a few day later I was able to get the camera out for an evening of fun. These next few are from the beginning of that evening.

This puppy is getting so big! And this was even a few weeks ago on September 4, I think he's grown since then!

For perspective, Here he is on June 27 in a very similar pose and place:

So at the beginning of September, his head is about up to the tabletop when sitting down. At the end of June, his head was about to the seat of the chair. And I'm pretty sure that, at 5 months old, he's not even close to done growing yet.

Flowers, Puppy and Bow Staff

I love these hibiscus. Zac bought them on super sale a while back and they have produced many blooms. I think all the rain we have had lately is keeping them going strong.

Look how much he's grown!

Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures in the month of July. And it shows. Cedar really grew in that month!

I absolutely love the fluff behind his ears. It's so soft. It blows in the wind on our walks and just looks so beautiful!

Orion needed pictures for school of Cedar and that's what got my camera out on this evening.

I am glad I did. Not only because it got a few pictures of Cedar, but also these gems of Orion. He has really been enjoying bow staff tricks lately.

He's getting really good. This evening, he was working with a broom stick, but we have since found a bamboo staff for him to practice with.

Whittle Away

The kids discovered whittling earlier in the summer.

They spent hours sitting on the step outside the porch, slicing away bark, carving their sticks into the shape they desired.

It was fun to see them enjoying something so basic as carving wood together. 

And more of the little Cedar Dear. He was sooooooooo tiiiiny!!!!!

So round and puffy.

He could slide into the littlest of spaces still!
